.Born in reading in the early sixties,he made it to university in london where he got a degree in philosophy
.Ricky had a brief career in a pop band called Bitter heart in which they released a song called seona dancing. the music video was actually made in a parking garage next to the BBC studios
.To make ends meet Ricky dabbled in student union work ,discos,pub quizzed and guitar bands This opened up a brief management career with a band called Suede (walked away shorty before they was signed)
.Following that came a portentous appointment with the then fledgling and unlicenced radio station Xfm. It was here that Ricky took on a new assitant, Stephen Merchant, who would later become co-writer/director of 'The Office'
.Ricky wrote and starred in a one-off called 'golden years' about a businessman who is obsessed with becoming a david bowie lookalike.
.On March 26th 2006 Ricky's own Simpsons episode entitled This Is Your Wife was aired Ricky had written and starred in this as a character called Charles. As a big fan of the Simpsons this was like "a dream come true"
